Cult of PiN Cradle & Nudge
The mechanical core that makes every Glyph build honest.
Cradle and nudge separate tourist runs from Act VI clears. Glyphs multiply what your hands already create; they rarely fix chronic drains.
Cradle fundamentals
Raise a flipper and catch the ball so it rests against the rubber. From a cradle you can aim ramp shots, side missions, and controlled posts. The tutorial calls this out early — believe it.
Ramp shot purpose
Cradled ramp shots reach hard mission lights that feed Ritual progress. Without them you wait on random bounces while boss timers tick later.
Nudge fundamentals
Tap nudge to shove the table. Use it to steal a near-drain or to bias a bounce into a bumper cluster. Respect cooldown; panic nudges waste the tool.
Combining both
Cradle to set, release for the line, nudge only if the bounce betrays you. Watching the embedded preview helps you see cadence without inventing inputs.
How this feeds systems
Clean control raises mission completion, which raises Ritual frequency, which clears bumpers faster, which softens bosses. See Missions & Rituals and How to Beat Bosses.
Ball differences
Faster balls shrink cradle windows; heavier feels change release timing. Re-learn after each unlock from Ball Unlocks.
Drills
- Ten cradles each side without drop. 2. Five intentional ramp hits. 3. Five nudge saves from intentional near-drains. Log misses; do not blame Glyph RNG yet.

Advanced cradle goals
Learn to cradle after a weak bumper rebound, not only after a clean catch. Learn to release into posts that feed side missions. Learn to refuse a ramp when a boss telegraph is pending.
Nudge advanced goals
Nudge to create a second chance at an Altar hit. Nudge to escape a gravity bumper trap. Never nudge as a substitute for watching the ball. Film one attempt mentally; if you cannot narrate why you nudged, it was panic.
Transfer to boss fights
Boss arenas punish lazy cradles because spells shove lanes. Practise cradle under pressure by intentionally playing one Act with Multiball active and forcing calm catches.

Because shops multiply skill; they rarely create it.
When should I nudge during bosses?
